Waves: Swimmers 4 to 6 years old who have had some swimming lessons and are swimming short distances with their faces in the water. Sessions are designed to help swimmers continue improving the skills they learned in swim lessons and as an introduction to group practice. Nova: Beginning swimmers at least 6 years old who can swim 25 yards in one of the competitive strokes. Workouts are designed to emphasize stroke development and fun. Junior 1: Entry level swimmers who are becoming proficient in all strokes. Emphasis is on refining techniques in strokes, starts, and turns with an introduction to race strategy. Junior 2: Intermediate level swimmers. Training program is designed to continue stroke development and begin aerobic development. Workouts are about 50% conditioning and 50% instruction. Senior: Elite and/or senior swimmers. Advanced training group with the ultimate goal of success at the State, Regional, and National levels. Workouts use the most advanced training and stroke techniques including an extensive dry-land program. Masters: Adults 19 and older who are interested in swimming for fitness, competing in triathlons, or competitive swimming. Athletes' abilities range from novice to serious competitive swimmers. The group meets three mornings per week and received stroke instruction every day. Masters swimmers are also invited to attend senior team practice sessions. |
