GRPA District III Championships
Tifton, GA

Facility:       Tift County Recreation Department
                    Baldwin Drive Aquatic Center
                    204 Baldwin Drive, Tifton
                    229-388-1865

                    8 lane, 25 yard pool. Limited seating. Some concessions will be available.

Schedule:     warm-ups: 7:00 a.m. (our specific warm-up time may be later)   
                    Opening Ceremonies: 9:00 a.m. (meet will probably end around 1:30 p.m.)

Age Groups:     swimmers will be in age groups according to their age on June 1 of this year.

Bring:         Lawn chairs, sun block, snacks/lunch, sun glasses, water bottle, team suit, goggles, cap, towel. Write                         down your event numbers.


Leave from Americus: Coach Tim will be leaving from the GSW Univ. pool parking lot at 5:20 a.m., for anyone                 who would like to follow.


Directions:     (<1 hr. 30 min. drive time, 75 miles from Americus)

From Americus take Hwy 280 to Cordele
            Turn south onto I-75
            Take exit # 63A (2nd St.) and turn left onto King Rd. / 2nd St. West
            Follow 2nd St. West until it intersects with Baldwin Rd.
            Aquatic Center is on the left






State Qualifying: The District meet is the qualifying meet for the GRPA State Championships in Tifton, July 25-26. The top 3 places in each event (individual events and relays) automatically qualify for the State meet. If a swimmer qualifies, but cannot attend the State meet, he/she must notify the meet officials (see coach Tim) during the District meet. There is a fine for qualified swimmers who do not show up for the State meet without scratching first.

        Dates:     10 & Under age groups: Friday, July 25
11 & Older age groups: Saturday, July 26

        Format:     Preliminaries in morning
Finals in afternoon (top 8 swimmers/relays in each event from the morning)
