GISA State Swimming Championships Gainesville, GA Friday & Saturday, January 25-26 Facility: R.M.A. Natatorium 8 lane pool with separate warm-up lanes Riverside Military Academy bleachers for spectators 2001 Riverside Drive no glass containers allowed Gainesville, GA 30501 Schedule: Junior Varsity: Friday evening Warm-ups begin at 5:30 p.m. (our assigned warm-ups may be later) Meet begins at 7:00 p.m. Varsity: Saturday morning Warm-ups begin at 8:00 a.m. (our assigned warm-ups may be later) Meet begins at 10:30 a.m. Awards: The top eight places (both Varsity and JV) will receive ribbons. Top two teams receive trophies. Uniforms: Swimmers must wear a team suit and a Southland swim cap. Admission: There is a $6.00 admission for spectators ($3 for students) Bring: Swim suit, towel, goggles, warm clothes. There will be concessions sold at the meet. You are welcome to bring your own snacks, etc. Directions: Take I-85 North from Atlanta. Continue pass the I-285 bypass and take Exit 113 (I-985) to Gainesville. Once on I-985 proceed for 22 miles and take Exit 22. At the top of the exit ramp, turn left (west) onto Highway 129 towards Gainesville. Continue straight on Highway 129 as it turns into Highway 129 (business route). Proceed through the downtown area of Gainesville and the old historic homes section (Green Street). At the end of the historic home section, take the right fork at the Civic Center and stay on Highway 129 (business) towards Cleveland. After the fork, take your second Left onto Riverside Drive (do not take the first left onto Riverside Terrace). At the second Left, there is a sign for Riverside Military Academy. Riverside is one mile on Riverside Drive. Follow Academy signs to the Natatorium. Permissions: If your child is planning to ride with another family to or from the meet, he/she must turn in a permission slip to the coach, signed by a parent.
